Welcome To our web page

Hello! It’s my privilege to welcome you to this website for the Church of Ireland Parish of Carrickfergus. We are a community of Christian people who worship together in the beautiful & historic surroundings of St Nicholas’ Church in the centre of Carrickfergus town. We aim to be people who experience the love and mercy of God through his Son Jesus Christ, who encourage and support each other as we seek to grow in faith, and who reach out in love to others - whether they live beside us or on the other side of the world! Here you will find information about our worshipping life together, basic information about what it means to follow Jesus, forthcoming events, the various organisations that serve the community, the history of our church building and some information about the town of Carrickfergus. So, whether you are a member of the parish, someone looking for more information about the Christian faith or a new church home, or simply planning a visit to the town – I hope that you will find the website informative and helpful. If you need more help or information do contact the Parish Office. If you live locally or should find yourself in Carrickfergus some Sunday, do call in and see us in person – we’d be delighted if you were able to join us at worship! May God bless you,
George Davison, Rector

Please Note the Morning Worship Service will now begin at 11-00am. This new time will be reviewed at the end of 2010 and any change will be posted here.

ORDINATION SERVICE

11th JUNE 2010

Friday 11th June 2010 four new deacons were ordained in St Nicholas Church Carrickfergus. The ordinands were supported by a congregation of approximately five hundred. The congregation included Family, friends and members from local and visiting congregations. Many were there to see their new curates ordained and to wish them all Gods blessings at this the start of their ministry. St Nicholas was an appropriate church to hold the ordination as we had connections with two of the ordinands. Peter Ferguson is now the curate in St Nicholas and Brian Howe is the brother of our present treasurer.
